The system automated the management of retail and wholesale business

designed based on the system in Singapore, for the same Japan based

Kong. The project included Transaction module, POS Machine interface module,

Reports. The data is in two languages, Chinese and English and was

The package was developed for a major private credits and investments
company, which had branches in and around South East Asia. The system
handled multiple currencies in accounting. It automated the issues like
credit limit control, keeping track of repayments and overall maintenance of
individual accounts at any point of time. The project was divided into
modules such as accounting (A/P, A/R and GL), client management, credit
management, investment management and payroll. As the system was implemented
in various countries, the database had to be synchronized using remote
access service at the end of the day taking into consideration the
multi-currency aspect.

Interface Module, and Merchandising Interface Module.

Took over the project management from former manager.

Project: Cold storage Distribution System
The project is a market distribution system developed on Oracle environment,
for a cold storage chain in South India, for daily business transactions
through their supermarkets in Singapore. The scope of the Project includes
converting the existing System on SQL* Forms to Oracle / Developer 2000
platform along with additional features. Their whole business has kept in
track through this package, with Oracle 7.3 as RDBMS on VAX VMS with
Developer 2000. The system includes Purchase, Sales, Inventory, General
Ledger, Accounts Payables / Receivables and Master Management as
sub-systems. Also to capture their daily transactions from the POS
(Point-Of-Sales) machine.
Role:
Worked on the development and maintenance of Application System.
Involved in System Analysis, Designing, Programming, Testing, and
Implementation.
Gathering user requirements, preparing specifications and coding.

Project: Leasing and Asset Management system
The system was developed to automate leasing and finance services of a major
client in Chennai. It includes modules like Asset management, Leasing
management, Credit management and Accounting. The system was implemented in
several major cities and inter- connected to each other.

Project: Internal Petty-Cash Management Module
The package was developed for a private banking / financing company, with
branches in most of the large towns in India. The module, part of a larger
accounting package, automated the issues like teller cash management, daily
cash balancing, and keeping track of payments and receipts of cash
throughout the day. This had to be done in-line with the other modules, so
as to link the module into the overall accounting package.
Role:
Involved in the project development as a junior programmer in a team of
seven.
Worked on around 55 forms and 40 reports.

Project: Printing Management System
The system was developed for a publisher dealing in printing and import /
export of books. The project was divided into modules such as accounting,
import/export management, print-management, inventory and payroll. The
developed system was able to generate quotations for print orders when the
no of pages / colors, size and type of paper used were given. It also
handled quotations for imports/export depending on exchange rate and freight
charges.
